Pre-Pointe Assessments/Dance Screening

What is a Pre-Pointe Assessment?

  • A holistic analysis of a young dancers body with a focus control of movement.

  • Identifies the characteristics of a dancers body, how this may impact their training and pointe work, while providing strategies to improve strength and control.

How will this help?

  • Adolescent dancers are particularly vulnerable to injury during this stage of growth and developement.

  • This assessment helps identify areas of risk and outlines ways to prevent injury.

  • Teaches young dancers how to look after their growing bodies in a way that is individual to them, with a focus on readiness for pointe work.
